Located on the 3rd floor, our two-room Suite pays tribute to Elmina Spencer, a nurse with of the 147th New York Infantry who was instrumental in choosing Lightner Farmhouse as a 1st Division hospital during the Battle of Gettysburg.

The tranquil 500-square foot Suite provides a quiet respite after a day of touring. With window seats on both ends of the Suite and a separate sitting area, en suite bathroom, air-conditioning, HDTV, wi-fi and USB-charging stations, which makes it a perfect space to relax, unwind, and rejuvenate.

Lincoln Bedroom

Located on the 1st floor, the Lincoln Bedroom honors the 16th President and his inspiring Gettysburg Address. While Abraham Lincoln never spent time at the Lightner Farmhouse, his legacy and words certainly inspired our current innkeeper as a young boy.

The room has a private entrance from the side porch.  With a queen bed, a fireplace, en suite bathroom, air-conditioning, HDTV, wi-fi and USB-charging stations which makes it an ‘all too fitting and proper’ a place to make your Gettysburg Address.

Major Greenlief T. Stevens Bedroom

“I was shot through both legs in the afternoon of the second day and laid at the house of Isaac Lightner”

This room is located on the 2nd floor and honors Greenlief Stevens of the 5th Maine Light Artillery. Sit by the fireplace in a period antique chair reading a novel or the history books in the bookcase.  Enjoy the soothing ambiance of the mint green walls decorated with 1863 drawings of Stevens’ exploits. This comfortable 2nd floor room features a queen bed en suite bathroom, air-conditioning, HDTV, wi-fi and USB-charging stations.

Private John F. Chase Bedroom

“I was taken to the First Army Corps Hospital.  It was a farm owned by Isaac Lightner.”

This room is located on the 2nd floor and honors Private Chase - the “Most Wounded Man in The Civil War.” A Confederate shell left 48 wounds and the surgeons first left him outside to “finish dying”.

The Chase Room will be much less painful (and inside). A bright, pleasing room with views of the grounds awaits.  With a Pencil Post queen bed, en suite bathroom, air-conditioning, HDTV, wi-fi and USB-charging stations, you can “finish sleeping.”

Captain Elias R. Monfort Bedroom

“He is at the house of Mr. Lightner on Baltimore Pike”

This room is located on the 2nd floor and honors Captain Elias R. Monfort of the 75th Ohio Infantry – a proud soldier and eventually, a Commander-in-Chief of the Grand Army of the Republic.

This 2nd floor room overlooks the grounds and is stylishly furnished with French antique furniture, and beautifully decorated with historical photographs of Monfort.  A comfortable queen-sized bed, en suite bathroom, air-conditioning, HDTV, wi-fi and USB-charging stations awaits you.

George W. New, Surgeon Bedroom

“I took possession the evening of the 1st, of a small white church building on the Baltimore road, also the house and barn of Mr. Lightner”

This room is on the 2nd floor and honors Doctor George New. The room is a very cozy, inviting space that provides a peaceful night’s sleep in a comfortable queen-sized brass bed.  The wall decorations reflect upon his career.  Modern amenities including air-conditioning, HDTV, wi-fi and USB-charging stations complete the room.
