Elmina Spencer Suite
Our spacious two-room Elmina Spencer Suite honors the “Florence Nightingale of the Rebellion”. As a nurse with the 147th New York Infantry, Mrs. Spencer helped choose the Lightner Farm for the 1st Corps hospital in Gettysburg. Her image is carved in the “Million Dollar Staircase” of the New York State capitol alongside Susan B. Anthony, Harriet Beecher Stowe and Molly Pitcher.
Spanning the entire third floor, the dark hardwood floors and exposed ceiling beams give this suite a rustic feel, while the bay windows on either side of the suite provides cozy place to view the grounds. The bedroom has a queen bed while the sitting room has daybed with a trundle that can accommodate two additional guests in the sitting room. Modern amenities including air-conditioning, HDTV, wi-fi and USB-charging stations complete the room.
