On November 22, 2014 the first of three history weekends will take place. Chamberlain at Gettysburg will include a 3 hour walk on Little Round Top to the 20th Maine monument and will conclude with lunch at the Dobbin House and further information on Joshua Chamberlain. Hosted by the Inns of the Gettysburg Area and Lightner Farmhouse, the speaker is Thomas Desjarden who is a native of Maine and a long time expert on Chamberlain’s strategy during the Battle of Gettysburg. Each participating couple will receive an autographed copy of Tom’s book, +Stand Firm Ye Boys from Maine+ The cost is $70 per person plus the room rental fee. Other history weekends include *Lincoln at Gettysburg* on February 21,2015 which includes a walk of the National Cemetery with historian Roy Frampton and a copy of his book plus dinner at the Inn at Herr Ridge where guests will be greeted by President Lincoln himself who will rotate among the guests during dinner and give a short talk following the meal. This has been a favorite event for many years. The cost is $60 per person.
The final history weekend is *The Irish at Gettysburg* which will be held on March 14, 2015 and includes a walk of the Battlefield with Licensed Guide Rich Kohr. Lunch at the Historic Fairfield Inn with Irish foods and music by Cormorant’s Fancy will conclude the program. Ticket cost is $55 per person.
